F & G Properties is a partnership between John Garland, President of Spectrum Design and Ken Ferris, President of Brookewood Management Advisors.


  • John Garland has been personally involved in other partnerships and owns several other properties in the Roanoke Valley and beyond.  By way of Ten East Church Avenue LLC, John is co-owner of 10 Church Ave. SE, which is 20,000 square foot, fully occupied office building and a historically restored 9000 square foot office building on Main Street in Rocky Mount Virginia.  Via other LLC’s, Mr. Garland is co-owner of the 16 unit English Tudor Windsor Apartment Building in Grandin Court that has undergone a complete historic preservation using tax credits and is a LEED Certified project, a 6 unit apartment project at 302 Mountain Ave. in Old SW Roanoke, and is a co-owner of a 37,000 square foot historic building at 16 Church Avenue SW, which is currently under renovation.  Mr. Garland’s firm, Spectrum Design is a 35 person Architectural and Engineering firm that specializes in Historic Preservation projects and have been involved with 90% of the Downtown preservation projects, including the Higher Education Center, the N&W Passenger Station, Warehouse Row, the Hancock Building, the Lawson Building, Candy Factor, Campbell Avenue Lofts, Fulton Motor Lofts, The Cotton Mill and The Patrick Henry.
  • Ken Ferris, is a technology entrepreneur who has been involved with several development and renovation projects on the past 20 years.
